Cake Is Great For After Dinner

Who does not love cake? You know that there is nothing you like better after dinner than a slice of cake. Cake is the most popular after dinner dessert in the world. While most people in the world still indulge in the traditional dessert, many have opted to forget about cake. You can eat cake after dinner and give yourself that little boost of goodness to get through the night.

Believe it or not, there are many cakes that can be very good for you. There are many recipes for cakes that are completely healthy. Cheesecake is an excellent dessert choice and can be very healthy when paired with fresh fruit. Carrot cake is a favorite for dessert. You can also indulge in a traditional chocolate cake every now and then. Nearly everyone loves chocolate cake. Believe it or not, even chocolate cake has its benefits. You can find hundreds of recipes for chocolate cake that include many healthy ingredients. Chocolate is actually considered to be much healthier than some other cake ingredients. If you want chocolate cake, then there is no reason that you should not indulge yourself.

There are four basic cake types. Yeast cakes are the most traditional and are made much like yeast breads. Certain pastries like stollen are considered to be yeast cakes. Yeast cakes are not as sweet as other versions but are equally as delicious.Cheesecakes make up the next classification of cakes. Everyone loves a nice piece of cheesecake now and then. They do not use flour and are often very sweet.

Sponge cakes make an excellent dessert for after dinner. Sponge cakes make excellent desserts, particularly if you add fresh fruit or a pudding-type icing. Angel food cake is a sponge cake and makes the perfect dessert when you through in some fresh fruit. Finally, butter cakes are the traditional sweet cake that you find in many wedding cakes and birthday cakes. Devil's food cake is a butter cake. These cakes are sweeter than some others and are often topped off with icing.

Butter cakes contain eggs, flour and butter or oils in order to make them moist. No matter which of these cakes is your favorite, you can enjoy any of them after dinner. You can serve these cakes with coffee to help counteract the sweet taste.
