How To Choose A Mineral Supplement

By Neil Butterfield

You know that you need the right amount of minerals and vitamins to stay healthy. In todays world, this is usually achieved with supplements. However all supplements are not created equal and you could be missing out on nutrients that you think you're getting. How do you know which supplement to buy? We'll cover that here.

Before we go any further its important for you to realize just how important the type of mineral supplement you take is to your overall health. For example, too often a person buys and takes a chelated vitamin and mineral supplement that by everything that is written on the packaging should be adequate to ensure dietary needs. The problem most people dont realize that with a compound, or even chelated vitamin or mineral supplement you will not receive more than 25% of the value and most times its much less.

Not even all liquid supplements or other supplements are created equal; liquid Ionic mineral supplements are actually the best. That is because they are water-based so your body absorbs them more readily. In fact, these type of supplements almost 100% absorbable.

But wait, you're probably saying, 'aren't fruits and vegetables better then supplements?? That's true, but there's a problem, and the problem isn't your fault.

The problem is that the food we eat no longer contains the nutrients is should and so as a result we actually dont get the necessary minerals even if we do eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Micronutrients are what vitamins and minerals are often called. Your body doesn't have any micronutrients of its own and it can't make any, so it relies on you to give it high quality food and supplements. A liquid ionic mineral supplement is the best way to get these critical nutrients

Whole foods are more complex and higher in fiber than processed food and are the best way to get micronutrients. They can also strengthen your immune system to protect you from disease and other illness.

So who should take a mineral supplement? If you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, have a diet high in whole grains, lots of fish, and lean meats and if you do this every day you may not need a supplement. But if we are being honest, most of us dont eat right every day and so for most of us a mineral supplement is necessary.

If you have any one following conditions, you definitely need a liquid ionic mineral supplement.

*Stay on a calorie restricted diet (under 1500 a day) *Are allergic to many foods *Have digestive problems, including ever had surgery in it *Don't eat like you should *Eat vegetarian/vegan *Bleed heavily during 'that time of the month' *Are pregnant, could be pregnant or are breastfeeding *Started menopause *Take medications that interfere with the absorption of nutrients *Often get diarrhea

Before purchasing a vitamin or mineral supplement you need to read the label and make sure that you know what you are getting. You also want to know how much you should take and how often. Remember that a liquid mineral supplement is going to allow you to absorb a much higher amount of the minerals and therefore they will be much more helpful to the body. Minerals are food to the body so taking a quality mineral supplement just makes good health sense
