Never Fall for Low Calorie Diets

By Thong M. Dao

It's highly important for you to read this article before starting any low calorie diet plan. This article will help you understand why low calorie diet plans do not work and never will.

We have received a huge amount of reports from individuals who have tried many popular low calorie diet plans, for weeks and even months. Unfortunately the success they had was small, only a couple of pounds. Many individuals have gotten so aggravated with low calorie diets, that they stop trying to lose weight all together.

The number one reason why low-calorie diet plans don't work is: when you eat low-calorie foods, your body basically remains malnourished. You feel sick and tired at all times. Forget about exercises, you don't have enough energy to complete even your regular activities.

All these happen because your metabolic rate is low. If you want to lose weight successfully, keep these two things in mind:

1. Calories are not your enemies. Calories are not what you should avoid, they're required to supply your body with the necessary nutrition and energy. When your body gets enough food, it'll increase your metabolic rate, which will automatically result in weight loss!

The bad calories are those available in junk foods. So while you won't accumulate fat by eating 10 apples per day (even though a single apple contains almost 100 calories), you will surely get fat by eating 10 burgers!

That's the basic difference. You need to avoid empty calories (i.e. junk foods) and embrace negative calorie foods, such as fruits and vegetables.

"Negative calories" doesn't indicate that there is no calories in those foods; it only indicates that in order to absorb themselves, they will require your body to burn more calories than what they provide. This caloric shortage will allow you to lose weight.

2. We must increase our muscle mass. With exercising we will be able to build more muscle. And more muscle means easier weight loss because muscle needs calories to maintain.

To build lean muscle, you should consume protein-rich foods along with regular exercise routine. Another advantage of consuming protein-rich foods: your stomach will not be talking to you as often, in return you will not be overeating.

By following a low-calorie food diet, you do not have enough energy to build muscle. Instead you lose muscle and your body can not burn fat since your metabolism remains lower than normal. This is one of the reasons why low-calorie diets are not effective.

Most low-calorie diets will only assist you to lose water and muscles. Unfortunately, you may think you have lost a lot of pounds, however you have not lost the most important of all: fat. If you can't lose fat, you can't get fit!
