HCG and Stevia

By Amelia Handley

The meal plan that accompanies the popular HCG diet is quite limited. The lack of variety makes it difficult to maneuver. But the addition of the non-sugar sweetener, Stevia, reduces the difficulty and allows the majority of dieters to navigate the diet successfully. Stevia is a South American herb used as a natural sweetener for hundreds of years. It has zero calories. It also reduces cravings for sugar and fat.

The decreased cravings offered by the Stevia are in addition to the effects of the HCG. HCG works on the hypothalamus gland; the particular gland that controls the eating and drinking sections of the brain. The Stevia and HCG working together makes it that much more possible for the dieters to adhere to the low calorie diet presented by the plan. The chosen sweetener is available in a wide variety of flavors at various health food outlets and online.

Because there are so many flavors of Stevia available, every dieter is able to find one to suit their tastes. Most find it a necessary addition to the herbal tea that is a basic portion of the meal plan.

Stevia comes from the leaves of a small, green stevia rebaudiana plant. It offers a delicious and refreshing taste that is said to be up to 30 times sweeter than sugar. In addition to being good for weight loss, Stevia is a positive in fighting both diabetes and breast cancer.

Recent discoveries show Stevia even provide physiological remedies that afflict many dieters. It is said that many suffer from a defect; the hypothalamus fails to turn off hunger even when the individual's stomach is full. Studies are in their early stages, but early conclusions are that Stevia bridges the gap and allows the hypothalamus to perform its function.

Stevia makes navigating the HCG diet possible. It is an all natural sweetener suitable for an all natural diet. The HCG diet has no known side effects and it offers multiple positive effects including: increased health, decreased risk of breast cancer, decreased risk of diabetes, loss of weight and lack of cravings for unhealthy foods.
